Where does wonder reside?
There is wonder all around us. When we live in awe, it has a positive effect on us and our whole way of being. Take a moment and look around, the furniture, outside the window, at all the people and things within your vision. For just a moment, pause where you are, soak in the current state of the area around you, and pay special attention to your own state of being.
Wonder is a state of exploration.
When we live in a state of wonder we are seeking the truth. Making us explorers of life. In this state of being we experience joy, a joy so natural that it builds curiosity, wisdom, and humility.

Life’s experiences are full of beauty.
Opportunities exist to see life as a never-ending invitation to explore grace that is found in our pure existence. Open yourself to the divine and walk your path easily like a child exploring the wonders of life. Your divine heart is wanting… yearning to be awakened to the beauty of living.
Wonder is simple.
We are made of Love so wonder is our natural state – to be in wonder – is as natural as it is for the trees to bloom, for birds to sing, for rivers to flow to the ocean. Wonder is a natural state of the present moment. Those that are not living in the moment are lusting for the future and postponing this moment, missing the exploration of now. The flame of hear and now dances in the reality of our fulfilling life.
Maintain your awe.
Go deep into this present now – whatsoever you are doing. You can be reading, eating, dancing, singing or maintaining your garden – whatsoever you are doing. This is the only time you have, why not do it totally? Why not be in wonder and joy? Wonder and Being Total mean the same thing. You maintain your wonder only when you are totally in something, and when you are totally in something you wonder.
That is only the beginning of the majesty of wonder.
Many geometric patterns have a universal appeal and can be found virtually everywhere. Explore the arrangement of branches along the stems of plants, of veins in leaves, and in the geometry of crystals and symbols. No one has eyes like you, they are deep and authentic, instantly recognizable as you. Listen for someone’s truth, see how beautiful their truth is. There is always something valuable in another’s words. Listen to the world around you. Just like the vibration of empowering music, sound can lift us up to fly high above our circumstances, and then there is nothing more beautiful than the sound of laughter.
Compassion is awe inspiring.
Imagine you are a part of a vast circle that includes everyone else on the planet, where everyone is connecting to their inherent light as they recognize the divine gift they have to share. Look at all individuals you meet, understanding that each of them have a wonderful gift of their hearts to share. Feel the compassion within as it builds for each person. As you live with wonder, you key into what life holds for us and your wonder unlocks and swings open the door of awe. Your new way of being provides a healthier way of living with less stress.
Fascination is more than a nice addition to our life.
Wonder has a purpose that plays a real role in the quality of our lives, and our mental state. There are studies that show patients heal faster when they have a view of beautiful surroundings in and out of the room. We are drawn to spaces that feel more natural and that inspire us. This week, decide to pay attention to your sense of fascination and find ways to consume it, just as you would anything that’s good for you. See and experience the wonder of life through enjoyment and participation. Therefore, take time to renew and honor playtime, to become receptive to synchronistic messages. Our level of happiness is based on how we choose to view and live our lives.

The Chinese philosopher, Lao Tse promotes the philosophy that our being is always connected to an Infinite Being – a transcendent consciousness that is behind all. It is not the active manifestation of the created universe, but the original consciousness behind it. It is that which, in stillness and unchanging perfection, always was and always will be.

The secret to a satisfying blend of mindfulness is to realize that there is a natural flow of influences at work in all parts of the universe, due to this interconnection to the original consciousness. Once you can accept this you can begin to sense the natural flow of universal movement and act within that flow. If this moment is not right for a certain type of action, then an aware person can choose to slow the task or simply postpones the action. An easy way of recognizing that a moment is not right is when feeling resistance for a task. When the same aware person senses that the right moment has arrived, then they act and easily accomplish the task.

In Stoic Philosophy the thought is to accept the current circumstances and instead focus on your choices what can you do that is within your spiritual ideal. It means not forcing a situation to be what it isn’t. Look for a better choice to achieve your objective, and/or wait for your innate sense of timing to feel right.

Let’s shift gears and consider our focus and concentration when looking for satisfying mindfulness. Consider that to some degree, we all concentrate or are mindful. Ordinary levels of concentration steady our mind as we read a book or perform tasks such as cook a meal. Because concentration is a neutral quality, it can be used for both skillful and unskilled, or even positive or negative purposes. Those are all choices. Our concentration/mindfulness develops from our wholehearted dedication to a subject or action.

Taking that thought deeper let’s look at meditation as the ultimate mindfulness/concentration exercise. In meditation, the methodical development of concentration brings access to deep inner states and insights. Meditative concentration grows as we become fully focused on one experience to the exclusion of others. Our consciousness becomes engaged and united, one with the subject of our concentration and the influence of the universal transcendental consciousness.

The subject of meditative concentration can be simple. We can focus on visualization, on the breath or a prayer. We can even reach a meditative state when we allow our concentration to carry us away with the flow of music or poetry. The subject of our focus flavors our consciousness, concentration, and choices. If we focus on love, the consciousness will be filled with the quality of love. Our inner states can become filled with their particular qualities of peace or compassion.

All of these schools of thought move us toward understanding our inner states and our connection to a greater consciousness. This, in turn, brings us a sense of virtue, happiness, and emotional resilience.
